Hopevale Union Free School District Goals for 2007-2008
Committed to reclaiming youth through character development and academic growth
- In the interests of enhancing cooperation and establishing bonds of trust between the two Hopevale organizations, and in keeping with SED and OCFS mandates for agency collaboration-conduct meetings with representatives of the boards and administrations of both Hopevale organizations to develop a written document for joint board approval that establishes alignment of the philosophies, policies and procedures of the two Hopevale organizations.
- In light of the increasing trend of residents having had serious gang involvement and histories of interpersonal violence-ensure policies, procedures, and approaches that address gang issues, provide focused interventions to support growth in character development and reclamation of youth while at the same time protect peers and staff from students who demonstrate crystallized delinquent behaviors.
- Given our specialized student population-explore enhancements or additions to programming that will strategically enhance our students preparation for furthering their training, education and their entrance into the world of work.
- In keeping with best practices for classroom instruction that include effective approaches for alternative education student populations-establish written practices and pursue professional development training to attain those identified instructional best practices.
